   I am a retired Professor of Psychology. Now I am conducting research on Padmasambava in order to write a few books. I have been visiting Sikkim since 2008: visited several monasteries in Sikkim, stayed at the Institute of Tibetology at Gangtok for research, stayed at Tashiding & Samudruptse several time. I am planning to visit Sumin Gompa (near Pakyong, East Sikkim), Tashiding, & Institute of Tibetology (Gangtok) annually.

   I belong to the land of Oddiyana/ Odisha/ Orissa; the birth place of Himalayan Mahaguru Padmasambhava. The Padmasambhava Mahavihara, the largest Nyingmapa Monastery in South Asia, established by the Tibetan Refugees (settled since 1960s)at Jirang, Chandragiri Hills, Gajapati District of Orissa, was inugurated by HH The Dalai Lama in January, 2010.
   Oddiyana/ Odivisa/ Odantapuri/ Orissa was the cradle of Buddhism from the time of the Buddha (his first two disciples, Tapasu & Vallika, belonged to Odisha) tii the 15th Century (When Buddhism was completely integrated into Hinduism, the Buddha became the 9th incarnation and identified as Lord Jagannath.). More than 120 Buddhist places have been identified Odisha/ Orissa. Odisha contributed the synthesis of Mahayana-Yogachara-Vijnanavada-Tantrayana-Vajyayana-Sahajayana philosophy to Buddhism. Nagarjuna, Dharmakirti, Dignaga, Indrabhuti, Lakshminkara, Padmasambava, Santarakshita, and a of Siddhacharyas were born or practiced Buddhism in Odisha. I hope in future Buddhist scholars, practitioners, and tourists will research & recognize the true contributions of Odisha/ Orissa to Buddhism.

   hi, i have visited your website and its quite not interesting because the land Namchi is holy and the statue is build by dodrupchen rinpoche and blessed by dodrupchen rinpoche and still there is no name of H.H Dodrupchen in your website…. You should write his name as he is the true living Guru Rinpoche in this world…..

   please come out openly against the hydro projects in sikkim ,bent on to destroy only our identity i.e., Guru’s Ter & Ney.

   I have gone through your web site, it is really very nice. All the pictures are very nice, telling about namchi, it’s monastery and the buddhist monks…I am very closely attached with Namchi..hope you may recognise me, I am Tathagata Chakravarti from Calcutta, a Doctor doing Free medical Camps in sikkim for the last few years…

   It can be claimed without dispute that the 135 feet statue of Guru Padmasambhava constructed and installed atop Samdrupste (the Wish Fulfilling Hill) near Namchi in South Sikkim is the tallest Statue of Guru Rinpoche in the world. It took more than 1000 laborers and scores of experienced engineers and highly skilled architects and sculptors nearly three years to complete this awe-inspiring and towering statue. Hundreds of Kar-sevaks (volunteers) from different regions and surrounding villages also offered a helping hand to this prestigious project. More than 48,000 bags of cement and about 400 metric tons of Tata Steel were used for the statue which itself is made of cement, concrete and copper.

   Hello,

   I am trying to benefit these 2 beings specifically but was having a little difficulty establishing my primal Yidam and would like to ask if someone at your center could recite 1 mala of 7 line prayer and 1 mala of vajra guru mantra to the dedication of these 2 brown dakini-like young lady’s in the Washington DC/Virginia United States area. Leah Harris and Ursula Brown are their names. They are kind and strong but surrounded at times by Unenlightened beings.
